Achievements
We recognise pupil achievements in a number of ways at Kingswode Hoe. Pupils collect credits for achieving different targets throughout the week, such as completing tasks, personal presentation, behaviour for learning and teamwork and community. Individual and class totals are celebrated in assemblies and pupils can use these credits in exchange for reward time or things they want from the KHS Shop.
We hold regular sharing assemblies on Friday afternoons when pupils and staff can share their achievements in and out of lessons with the whole school. These are enjoyable, supportive occasions which develop confidence and the ability to recognise and celebrate our own achievements and those of others. Pupils also value the personal approach at Kingswode Hoe and supportive ethos- reflected in celebration of birthdays and recognition of achievements out of school. These can also be highlighted in our weekly newsletter.
Throughout the year, pupils also regularly take part in sporting events and we are the proud winners of a number of trophies and awards, including those from the competitive activities with other schools that we participate in. We also recognise 100% attendance through assemblies and awards.

About the Jack Petchey Award
Almost 2,000 schools, colleges and youth organisations throughout London and Essex run the scheme, which contributes millions of pounds each year. The scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding.
“We do it because we want to help young people raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society,” Jack Petchey. Visit the Jack Petchey Website to find out more about Achievement Awards.
Pupils and staff at Kingswode Hoe get involved to nominate and select pupils who deserve recognition for a Jack Petchey Achievement Award. It is an excellent opportunity to show our recognition and support of pupils for a variety of different achievements on a wider platform.
