Our Key Stage 4 team work hard to ensure that pupils are well prepared for the transition beyond Kingswode Hoe. Our extensive Work Related programme, Careers and tutorial lessons, alongside tailored Work Experience opportunities, enable pupils to make the right choices about their future studies. We are constantly updating information and resources to ensure they are as well equipped as possible for the different pathways available.

Mr Smith is responsible for this part of the curriculum and he can be contacted via the school office on 01206 576408 or by emailing contactus@kingswodehoe.essex.sch.uk.

We measure and assess the impact of the careers programme on pupils using evidence collected against objectives on the Future Pathways framework. Details of the Future Pathways Framework will be uploaded soon.

At Kingswode Hoe School, we organise a series of visits and opportunities to find out more information about the range of courses and pathways available to our pupils Post-16. We support pupils to research courses of interest to them and arrange visits to colleges and work environments as appropriate to meet their needs and prepare for the future.

Pupils also have access to the Travel Training Programme which helps them to gain independence in their approach to use of public transport, therefore widening options for the future. See our Transport page for more information about Travel Training.

Colleges
Visits to colleges play an important part in the preparation for Post-16 pathways. Transition advisors work closely with the school, pupils and families from the point of Annual Review in Year 9. The Essex County Council Website has a number of very useful publications and guides which explain more about this important stage for pupils, parents and carers. Please find below links to information on the post 16 provision available to your child.
